Overview about the workshop programme
HYBRIDS
Can (art) objects draw attention to kinesthetic processes and encourage them?
In this workshop, we will explore, together with participants from the fields of performing arts, film and media, and visual arts, the influence of materials and aesthetics on perception and movement within a space. The aim is to sharpen our mutual awareness and foster dialogue from these different perspectives.
In everyday life, we are accustomed to measuring physical movements in terms of lines, graphics and numbers. All virtual spatial movement sequences are based on these facts.
What significance do linear measurement methods hold for the design and implementation of artistic processes? Critical reflection on the correlations between ‘linear’ and ‘performance’ can open up new creative possibilities for participants.
But what traces do repeated movement sequences leave behind? They are imprinted as physical resonance in our body memory.
Through different perspectives of perception, interdisciplinary exchange enables an expanded access to body memory – for choreographic, staging, participatory and art education practices.
The workshop is aimed at professionals working at the intersection of the performing arts, film and media, and the visual arts, who wish to expand their artistic vocabulary and gain new inspiration for their own practice.
Together, we will enter an open, process-oriented space where the interplay of different perspectives can give rise to something new.
Filmmakers and media professionals are also warmly welcome, with the consent of the other participants, to document the processes artistically in their own way and to use the resulting interventions in public spaces as inspiration for a creative, media-focused interpretation.

EXPERIMENTAL COMMONS

With
Godlive Lawani | Stane Performing Arts Management
Constanze Brockmann | IGBK and Marcel Noack | Visual Artist & Fine Art Photographer, board member of BBK Bundesverband and IGBK
Nikolaj Nikitin | International Film Curator & Lecturer in Festival Strategy and International Film Markets
Festivals and fairs offer valuable opportunities to make connections, exchange ideas, and build networks. Whether at Performing Arts Market Seoul, Supermarket Art Fair, or Berlinale – major industry gatherings in Germany and around the world provide a wide range of opportunities for visibility and networking.
“How to … navigate through (international) festivals & fairs” is aimed at professionals in the performing arts, visual arts, film, and media. It offers practical guidance on how to prepare effectively, follow up strategically, and turn attending an event into a rewarding experience:
Participants receive and exchange practical tips on how to prepare for large-scale events, navigate them successfully, and present their artistic work with confidence. Topics range from scheduling appointments and reaching out to contacts, to questions about suitable presentation materials, informal rules, and on-site networking opportunities, as well as sustainable follow-up after the event.
In addition to input from our speakers and exchange in sector-specific breakout rooms, the event provides space for exchange with artists and producers from various disciplines and invites participants to inspire one another through ideas and shared experiences.
Organiser: CCCberlin

"How to ... pitch?!"
With: Godlive Lawani | Stane Performing Arts Management
Networking events such as industry meetups, festivals, and conferences offer great opportunities to make connections, build networks, and initiate collaborations. Yet the same challenge arises again and again: how can one communicate their own artistic work clearly, concisely, and convincingly?
In this workshop, we will focus entirely on the topic “How to … pitch?!”
Godlive Lawani will share her experiences and most important tips, and all participants are invited to present their work and projects and practice pitching in small groups. How do I find the right language? What is truly essential? And how can I gain more confidence in presenting my work—whether in formal presentations or in informal conversations?
The workshop is aimed at practitioners from the performing arts, visual arts, and film/media. This creates an interdisciplinary exchange that encourages learning from one another and opens up new perspectives on how to present one’s own work.

„Standing Strong“: Strategies for resilience
The everyday life of artists is often characterised by precarious working conditions, creative blocks, public criticism and physical and mental exhaustion. Especially in times of personal or social crisis, the question arises: How do we remain capable of action and resilient?
This lecture explicitly brings together actors from the performing arts, visual arts, film and media. Despite their different disciplines, the challenges they face are similar.
Together with our expert, we want to explore:
What tools and strategies strengthen individual and collective resilience?
How can we better share infrastructure, knowledge and resources to become more resilient as a scene?
What might a united, solidarity-based response from the arts scene to social realities look like?
Let us learn from each other, look at problems from new perspectives and develop sustainable strategies – to send a strong signal for a solidarity-based and resilient arts landscape.
