Moving Images: Filming, Sharing, Documenting

Trailers, snippets, social media clips, or project documentation – video has become an integral part of artistic practice. The Moving Images event series is aimed at Berlin-based professionals working in the performing arts and dance, visual arts, as well as film and media. Experts provide hands-on knowledge ranging from smartphone video production, trailer creation, and documenting one's own work to artistic formats such as screendance. Participants also gain insights into film editing, the development of film projects, legal fundamentals, and social media strategies.
The individual events focus on specific topics and take place in different formats – from in-person workshops to online lectures – while addressing participants with different levels of experience, from practical basics to advanced expert knowledge. It is possible to attend either the entire series or individual events.
The thematic focus, format, and intended level of experience are specified in the descriptions of each individual event.
The event series runs from September 2026 to autumn 2027 and is a collaboration between Creative Cross Collaborations Berlin (German Dance Association), Tanzbüro Berlin, and the Media Library for Dance and Theatre (German Centre of the International Theatre Institute).
The dates of the individual events can be found in our events calender.
