Together with A MAZE. and Urban Spree we are inviting Berlin-based artists and creatives from the fields of performing arts, visual arts, and film & media art to a three-day interdisciplinary residency.
The focus is on artistic experimentation at the intersection of performance, visual arts and digital media art – with a focus on the B-Dome, an immersive 360° dome.
What is it about?
Small groups of 3-5 artists from different disciplines will spend three days researching, experimenting and developing together. The aim is to explore new artistic approaches in the interplay between body, space, image and digital technology.
The programme concludes with a public showing on the evening of the third day.
Some participants will have the option of sharing their experiences at a round table discussion at A MAZE./ Berlin 2026.
Who is this call for applications aimed at?
We are looking for artists, creative professionals and interactive media artists based in Berlin who work in the following fields:
- Performing arts (e.g. dance, circus, theatre, performance)
- Visual arts
- Film & media art / creative coding
We particularly welcome people who work at the interface between art and digital media or who are interested in interdisciplinary collaboration.
Digital skills & technology
At B-Dome, you will have the opportunity to implement immersive 360° projections and experimental media formats – due to the short duration of the residency, creative and realistic ideas are the main focus.
We are particularly interested in applicants who:
- have already implemented projects, performances or installations with digital media (projections, interactive installations, generative media, AI, 360° visuals).
- have experience or interest in immersive 360° environments and fulldome-based projections.
- Have worked with tools such as TouchDesigner (live visuals & interaction), creative coding (generative experiments, Processing, p5.js, OpenFrameworks) or 3D software (Blender, Cinema 4D, Unity, Unreal Engine).
- Would like to use their own technology: Laptops, 360° cameras, motion capture suits or other devices can enrich the creative process.
Important: The residency is experimental and collaborative. You will work in small groups, try out new ideas and create quick prototypes. Technical support, materials and infrastructure from B-Dome are available – but your own devices or creative hacks are welcome to help you realise your ideas.
Showing: EXPERIMENTAL COMMONS
CCCberlin, A MAZE. and Urban Spree invite you:
Our 2.5-day residency provides an opportunity for artistic experimentation and interdisciplinary collaboration. In April, 15 artists come together to work, experiment, collaborate and deliberately fail. The focus is on exploring the body, space, image and digital technology, and making use of the B-Dome's immersive 360° dome. The resulting works and processes will be presented on the third day in an open showing.
You are warmly invited to meet the artists and discover the results.
